Oy, that Jig - I wish I had recorded it! :)
I also had a great day at Lady Selborne. Not so many coins as the first two times there, but lots of different items.
These include:

A Nice lighter with the name "Dave" inscribed on it,
A medal with a man running on it with 2 wreaths (Still un-identified as to where it comes from)
The following coins:
1/4d 1941
1/d 1955
1d 1950
1d 1928 (my oldest coin I have ever found)

Just as the sun was setting, I got a decent hit and looking down, saw what we thought was a button. It was just lying there in plain sight. I took a pic of it, then popped it out, and it turned out to be either a shoulder or cap badge - a "pip" or rank indicator for Officers that is based on the Star of the Military Division of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath.
It has the words "Tria Juncta In Uno" on it which translates to '3 join to become one', a reference to the 3 countries that became the United Kingdom.
What a great day!
:)

To dig, or not to dig? - That is the question! (JamesK - Circa 2014)

Well done James  - nice variety, and of course the beautiful coin, a moment to treasure.
Many happy hunts.

Morning All

I was there on Saturday Morning.  9-1, trash, trash and more trash.  Then the Lady delivered literally on my very last dig of the day!.  This is a SA infantry school military badge.  Looks like they are based in Oudshoorn.  Thanks guys for a lekka dig, and the picnic lunch provided by Charmaine was to die for - 5 star buffet lunch at Lady Selborne.  Thanks a million.
