Wop, wop waaaa... Hehe... Had the same effect this weekend. You can hear the grass grow, in 2 weeks it will bee allmost impossible to get to certain places with the coil.

But seeing those pics makes me lus man.

Lol Gremlin

Then you know exactly how I feel at this stage. It is quite a vast piece of veld with hardly any disturbances. There are 2 or 3 bush sleeping scavengers walking about collecting scrap metal for resale but dont really bother me. I normally give scrap Iron dug up to them when they pass along, hence they leave me alone. As soon as that grass is cut I'm back in there on weekends. Have a look at the attached image and check it out on Google Earth. You can clearly see the lines where yards, houses etc was. Yes, certain areas has been turned into dumping areas but there is still a lot of usable terrain of which I have only covered about 1 to 2 % as yet :o. To sum up the Lady Selborne topic so far, this is what I have found there:

25 AUGUST 2013
1945 SA 6d (Six Pence)
Tee Lepel
Pretoria Municipality Quarry Token (1913 to 1959) Issued to workers as 1 week's pay.
Enscription : "Praestanua Praevaleat Pretoria" and P M 2849 on reverse

31 AUGUST 2013
2 x Old Desert Spoons
1 x Small Bottle - Possibly a old perfume bottle
1 x Live .303 Cartridge - RL II C - 303 Mk 2 Cordite Charge Cartridge - Made by Royal Laboratory, Woolwich Aresenal, Kent. Stopped manufacturing in 1957.
1 x Pretoria Cycle / Rywiel Bicycle License Tag valid July 1950 to June 1951
1 x Brass Center Piece of old fold up ruler
1 x Brass Disk - Guest & Chrimes Ltd Rotherham, Made in England - Old Brass Manufacturing company

1 SEPTEMBER 2013
An old small Lennons bottle (Nice little thing)
A broken metal heart with lettering Pretoria and 1927 stamped on it. Guess its some sort of pendant or something.
A brass lid - Possibly an old jewelry case or something similar. Like the patterns on it.
A bicyble tag again. This one is marked from top to bottom: Wielbelasting, Transvaal, Rywiel, 1958, Cycle, No. 232112, Wheeltax
A 1952 Georgivs Sextvs Rex 1D Coin.
Several pot and pan lids

3 SEPTEMBER 2013
1 x Large Fork
A large but severely damaged wrist watch. ::) Does not seem like something old though but must have looked impressive when it was new.
A 1965 Suid Afrika 2 cent
A metal badge still to be identified. I managed to clean it up with after the pic was taken. The soild was severely compacted onto it causing the paint to come off during the cleanup. It is an Eagle perched with spread wings. On top overlapping is the letters CVA. All capital letters with the V in the middle and larger than the other letters. Mystery at this stage.

4 SEPTEMBER 2013
A metal trashcan lid
A small axe head - Very corroded
A small key - Possibly wind up jewelry box key.
A small brass hosepipe nozzle.
A Pretoria Bicycle Lisence tag - July 1956 to June 1956
A bad condition 1949 South Africa 1 D (1 penny)

5 SEPTEMBER 2013
A Brass Buckle
Another spoon - This is number 6 for the area.
Another Transvaal Wheel Tax Bicycle Tag of 1959 - This makes it the 4th one for the area.
A 1970 SA 2 Cent
A 1955 South Africa Elizabeth II Regina 1 Penny
A 1918 Georgivs V Dei Gra Britt Omn Rex Fid Def Ind Imp 1 Penny

6 SEPTEMBER 2013
A brass fitting of sorts
A Large Spoon
A Number 8
A Water main tap
A 1958 Transvaal Wheel Tax Bicycle Lisence

7 SEPTEMBER 2013
A SA Military Medal with date on the back 31-5-1961 8)
A Georgivs VI Rex Imperator 1 Penny - 1940 (Unfortunately the tractors cutting the veld got hold of it....Bit bent but still cool)
A Georgivs Sextvs Rex 1 Penny - 1952
A 1965 South Africa 1 Cent
A 1987 South Africa 1 Cent
A 1943 Georgivs VI Rex Imperator SA 3d (Tickey)

8 SEPTEMBER 2013
Another Primus Head
Some sort of metal cap
Top section of a broken key made by Master Lock Co, Milwaukee USA
Brass piece (top section of a medal)

A suspender / brace clip
Last but not least (at least) A 1945 1/4d - Georgivs VI Rex Imperator - Not in a very good condition though but still worth keeping Lol

Hi Everyone
Well, after a long wait for grass to be cut and heavy rain mixed with additional work loads, I finally got a chance to hunt my favourite "Lady" again last Saturday. Except for the usual junk, I did manage at least to get a 1941 George Rex 1 Penny.

Tomtom was hunting with me and got an old clothes iron base plate.

Hopefully this weekend will go better.

See ya soon and remember to keep Coil to the Soil

1 x Door Knocker - Lovely piece. Couldn't find the handle though
Pretoria Cycle Tag July 1934 to June 1935
Small coffe grinder or maybe a sharpening device. Not sure.
