'Landscaping' my garden.

  • on: January 05, 2016, 01:41 PM
This is what I found in the garden this morning. I really need to get a pro pointer...
The coin is a regular 5c.
The bowl is interesting, how do I go about cleaning it?

The foil is out there.

A coin is a coin! In terms of cleaning the bowl, try http://www.metaldetectingworld.com/electrolysis_rust_removal.shtml

I am currently using a laptop charger, but have used anything from an old Nokia charger to a 12V car battery charger. Really gives great results (expect some experimentation with metals other than iron/steel.

Let us know how it goes!

Nice finds Toomsie. I see you are running in all metal mode

Personally, I use a car battery charger

A bit more garden hunting today, and it is pretty weird...

The foil is out there.

Interesting Toomsie. So who knew your garden was a warzome...that's a .303 cartridge, can't see the headstamp clearly but seems to be post WW2 SA made.
