the last two years worth of coins

  • on: July 19, 2015, 04:33 PM
This represents almost all the coins I have found over the last two years, some are still in olive oil getting pampered....the oldest coin is a 1859 shilling which is my favourite and the youngest is a 1966 50 cent.....Notice how few old R1 coins are in the collection ..Thanks for looking..enjoy!
Where is that five Shilling???

Howzit Tony, awesome to see your stuff, as always. You have mentioned olive oil a couple of times, how do you use it to clean your coins?

nice coins you got there Tony.
the coins found inland are in such good nick compared to the ones we find on the beaches
but then again finding an old coin, be it in good nick or stuffed, I think the joy remains the same.

Too true Louis and the older the better as you start to imagine how the times were when that coin was been passed around, who lost it and how??

You simply soak them in olive oil and forget them...The crud that will come off comes off without affecting the patina the stuff that sticks to the coin is best left alone
Where is that five Shilling???
