Thats around the corner , Myself in p.e with another member aswell from here called Pickers.   We should meet up sometime and go out on some group hunts in the area.

You not missing much here by us on the beach, we have about 4 users with very top end machines running through the beaches about every 2nd day so its quite cleaned up if you know what i mean.  :P

We also have some other people going through the beaches here but we still find stuff. Especially after heavy winds. Meeting up sounds like a good idea. Just dont know where to go though. Trying to find sites where we can find old stuff but not much luck. Looks like the eastern cape...especially around our are ( Jbay to P.E) did have very much going on in the old days. Maybe I am just researching it all wrong? I dont know. I just want to get out and detect. Could do it for a living if We had more history like america. Compared to them we are a baby of a country with not much history. Think I should move......lol.....not really. Anyway.....when will you be hunting agian? I am going out tonight most likely as some sand shifted here and i can see the "old beach" in certain parts.

Hi Kobus

Will send you a pm shortly , then we can swap some info and keep in the loop. Have some nice info on places we need to get to, google isint all that forgiving to hand out info by just typing history of p.e or surround areas. You physically have to go do some sit down and do library research and then find some names and search on that to get leads where these specific people or groups moved around to get onto their tracks and see if they dropped anything or buried anything........Sometimes i feel like a Private Investigator i have unravelled a good story down here by us so far trying to get connected with the overseas people as they are busy writing a book about this SIR to give us more or less indication where the settlers was taken in on the farm for a few nights as their ship was stuck.   The owner of the land was very renown here in p.e and its no leads by word of mouth but hard facts thats been written in news articles, and family tree history with a piece here and there on google.   The daughter still lives here and also trying to get in conact that side but Royal British blood 178 settlers on a farm land there must be more to it. :D lets hope it pans out like i am hoping for a good old Relic will be worth all the research ;)

Sounds like it could be a great relic site. Looking forward to doing some digging together in the future.
