What do you guys think of the new rules that will be enforced immediately.

http://treasurehunters.co.za/forums/classifieds/rules-for-posting-in-the-classifieds-please-read-before-posting!/

Old posts, obviously are exempt from the rules, this will apply to any new posts.

I have also added a trader rating system whereby you can rate the member.

Looks good but it must always include the price wanted for each item, we don't want an auction situation.

I think this is Great

And agree with skipper a set price must be advertised and further negotiations are between the seller and the buyer

I dont get what the issue is with make an offer?

I place an ad that meets the requirements, I can have 'make an offer', and then members can make their best offer. The seller can sell to whoever makes the best offer if he/she is happy to accept it.

Same with fixed price. I place an ad for R1000, someone is welcome to make me an offer for R900 either PM or on the thread. No issues.

I dont see too much issues with this, can someone explain where the issue comes in?

I think it is a great idea. Personally I would still rather collect from the seller and pay him/her in cash or whatever than to risk couriers etc etc. but that's just me....Lol

I am on an air rifle forum and have seen the problems that arise when guys start bidding against each other on open forum, rather start with a price then negotiate an offer via PM

Thx Skipper, understand what you saying, I just think its going to be very hard to control.

With the initial rules, its pretty easy, I can go and delete the post if they not following the rules for posting.

But to try and police whats happening after that, for example, someone posts an offer on the thread and not on PM - what do I do? Delete it and then the seller loses out on a potential offer? Must I sit PM'ing the offer to the seller and delete from the thread. Just too much policing involved.

I think everyone should just use some common sense when trading in these forums.

We already have some restrictive measures in place, lets try and keep them to a minimum and hopefully our community members are mature enough to act like adults when transacting with other members.
