We decided to detect the main beach @ St. Lucia - Kwazulu/Natal... It was the usual suspects, but, with a 'glory hole' of sinkers and a beautiful antique bone handled knife.
The most amazing part was the distance from the beach that the sinkers were found. What's also incredible was the difference in sinkers, some were very, very old and yet, others were relatively new... Really strange to say the least. What is also worth mentioning was the depth at which the sinkers were found... I have absolutely no explanation for this!!!

The excavation team hard at work!!! You can see that it's a debris field of sorts, very rocky and not sandy at all

This photo give one an idea of just how far away from the sea the sinkers were found, incredible. I have no idea what is going on here.

Not the most shallow hole I've ever hunted

Full of stones and pebbles, all very tightly packed together. This might have been part of the St. Lucia estuary years ago, or something like that, but, I have no information regarding the extent of the estuary, nor old maps to reference.

The intrepid hunting team at work

We must have easily walked about 10km's

I'll post all the photo's of the finds in the next screen
