Hi,
I enjoy going for treasure hunting, and I always go with my friends. The last day when I went to my friend’s house, I saw an instrument there. He told me that it was his father’s, who works in the archaeology department. He  told me that it is a geophysical instrument called a ground magnetometer, and they use it to find ancient ruins hidden below the ground. I found it interesting, and I thought it could help me for my gold hunting as well. Could anyone help me with this? Does anyone know about this instrument in detail? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Won't work. It doesn't detect gold, it helps in the direct detection of associated mineralization, so for example, alluvial material, quartz veins etc. All it does is give an indication of areas that gold might be found in

The cost of the unit is also going to be prohibitive. I wouldn't waste my time on it
