Metal ball shape

Hiya, found this detecting today. Can anyone perhaps help identify this? It appears to be copper.

Looks like part of a float valve of some sort kinda like the plastic balls in our toilets..
Where is that five Shilling???

It could also be a piece from an old brass bed.
