We started off on a slow start and even a slower end with some rain interruptions today together with our newest forum member Brendan joining in. At the end of the day though, my "lady" did not dissappoint an gave me some spectacular finds.
In one hole I found 2 x 2 Shillings being a 1941 and a 1954
Also got a nice brass ornate plate of some sorts
1d 1938
1 Shilling in close proximity of the 2 Shillings being 1941
1/4d (Too encrusted to see date)
A button with an Archer riding a chariot that is drawn by what seems to be a deer??? WTF?
And my pride and joy ..... A brass buttong with an very old steam locomotive enscribed in front "Hollandsche Spoorweg Maatschappij" and lettering G.R.A Amsterdam at the back.
To what I can tell the specifing rail road company was commissioned in 1839 and ran to 1939
Anyhows, thanks Brendan for a great day who by the way got his 1st coin in one of the first holes he dug.....Well done. Till next time, keep coil to the soil mates.
