Can anyone identify this strange steel item

  • on: June 04, 2016, 01:55 PM
Looks like there were a big Green glass also that broke off it.

Marked as follow: M EIV 61 AND 1501

The strange thing is it picks up on my Ace 350 in the foil and 24ct gold range almost in the middle. But its steel and catches magnet. Never found any steel except foil and Gold in this range on my detector. And its not jumping around like rusted metal would on my detector.

First thing I thought when I saw it comming out is "its a bom". Some kind of explosive device.

Acid test is totaly strange result. With 22ct gold acid copper bubbles green and steel bubbles white turning it black.

but this thing bubbles yellow with 22ct gold acid. Negative result with silver acid.

I wish to know why this steel item picks up as gold or foil on my detector. Its not non ferous but its ferous metal. But detector gives it low non ferous metal. I have digged many steel and iron items. Cast iron, Iron ext but this thing is strange.
