I think I may have found the tip of a staff or flag staff,it was found in an area closed to the Chimes hotel where I have found Boer and British related items...Its about 5 cm long, made from brass and has a coarse internal thread...Any ideas??

my first thought was from the old brass bedsteads but the flagstaff makes a lot of sense
