Looking for second hand Garrett AT Pro

  • on: January 21, 2015, 01:05 PM
Hi
I am looking for second hand Garrett AT Pro.
I am in the South Coast area.
I will mostly do beach hunting and some inland.

Hi Japie, where on the South Coast are you?

I don't know where you can get a AT Pro, but I am going to be down on the South Coast this weekend if you want to come try out Mt Ace 250 (just to see if you like the hobby)

Thank you for the offer I would really appreciate but unfortunately I work weekends.
How does the ace250 work for you on beaches because that was my first choice but I was under the impression it does not work on the beach?

It works great on the dry sand, but as soon as you get to the wet it goes crazy. You can still sort of use it on wet sand, but you have to turn the sensitivity down so much that you lose all depth, so not worth it. It will also still give false signals. If you want to hunt the wet sand, the best bet is a PI machine. I know the AT Pro is better on the wet due to ground balancing, but I think it still falses a bit

I have a PI machine that I ese on the wet. If I want to hunt the dry then I use the Ace 250

Hi, Doculam are the official suppliers of Garrett for South Africa. They based in Durban but will ship free anywhere in South Africa.

http://www.metaldetectors-africa.com/product/at-pro/

Use the code "TH05" on checkout and you will receive a 5% discount on the online price, so you will pay R9822.81

They have in stock and its always best to buy from the official suppliers as you will get the proper warranty.

Another option is the sea hunter mark ii:

Seems like some others on here are really enjoying that machine, see the thread here:

I agree with Chris about buying from the dealer. They are the cheapest anyway

Hi Japie...I have both the Sea Hunter and the AT pro....If you plan to spend your time on the dry sand then go for the AT. If however you want to get into the water or search the wet sand go for the Sea Hunter....you will have to dig every target but the benefits of the Sea Hunter are worth the digging and hey!...its only beach sand!!
Where is that five Shilling???
