Hi Guys

New to your forum but not new to metal detecting or metal detecting forums, have been on one forum since 2009. I don't own a commercially bought detector but I am planning on getting the AT Pro some time in the not too distant future. Just one question dose one need to fill in the verification every time you send a post?

I am interested to know which MD you have built, because I too have  built my own surf pi 1.2 and I am in the process of building a waterproof surf pi pro with dual field coil. I have just completed the coil housing and the coils,which must still be tested before sealing it all up. I have also made a straight shaft for it. next  I will have to attempt to build waterproof head phones

Hi Guys

Thanks for the warm welcome. I have build a number of detectors but mostly PI some are analogue and one is digital, the nice thing about making it digital is that you can change many parameters with out changing components my guess is that I'm not teaching you any thing. I have build two VLF machines that I got from the net and one that I'm busy with at the moment that is my own design and partly digital. I have also build the surf PI but that detector is a motion detector and I do not like that when working in the water but there is a mod that you can do to it to make it motion less. Here where I am in Gauteng and where I detect detection depth needs only be 200 mm so PI  is uncalled for not to mention that you have no discrimination on it, I would still like to build one with dual audio for ferrous and non ferrous metals. The dual coil PI is the best for this kind of full discrimination if I can call it that. Luuk Can you tell me more about the surf PI pro? I have not come across it yet.

Judging from your stuff it's clear that you are doing really well with your home made detector.
Building one sounds like fun.

Would have been nice if I could increase the iron discrimination level on my goldsense.

Just scream if you need company. I'm from the roodepoort area and still a noob. Would be nice to pickle along for some stories and advice.
