Yup that's me! I run
http://tribe.ca which is the largest message board / online community in Toronto, Canada. It is not related to metal detecting but I do have few discussion threads about metal detecting in there (when yer the admin , you can do that!
)
I find it interesting to see how non-detectorists react to our hobby. A few have even purchased their first metal detectors after reading about my adventures. Many have had their eyes opened to the treasures that are lurking beneath their feet, and not only the gold and silver, but the historical stuff like old coins, toys and other artifacts.
I think threads like that are an important bridge between our hobby and the general public because it de-mystifies the hobby and makes it more friendly and available.
