My Garrett ace 250 arrived this morning and I am super excited to see what I can find with it/her. Now to start with those baby steps, I guess the beach is a good beginner place to start. Maybe some older looking fields around town. Really looking forward to this.

Does anyone know what are the best rechargeable batteries (AA) to get? I know they all have mA ratings but dont understand too much about this. Any suggestions where to get a good deal on them?

Many Thanks

Hi

The rechargeable's have a mAh(milliamps per hour). That's how much drain you need to put on it for an hour to drain the battery.

The larger this raging the longer the battery will last after a full charge.

The price will be another indicator if you compare the batteries in the same store. :)

Rechargeable batteries are fine, but do take note that a rechargeable battery does not have the capacity of a normal battery and will therefore not last half as long before needing a recharge.
my detector uses 4 x AAA's and they last approx 40 hours. with rechargables it is less than 15 hours. this only means that you must remember to charge the batteries regularly. I always carry a spare set of batteries in my pouch.
