I suppose it will only be fitting for me to introduce myself as well...
My name is Chris, however you will see my posts under the name of "admin". Dont let this frighten you off, I am not here just to moderate posts, I am here to enjoy and learn and get to know you all a little better :)
I am brand spanking new to this hobby, I have created a blog on the main page at www.treasurehunters.co.za where you will be able to follow my adventures if you so wish to do so.
These forums came about because whilst I was doing research into metal detecting I could not find local South African forums for detecting (as I wanted to join one) and thought it would be very beneficial for us all if one was created.
I have an Information Technology degree so thats where my knowledge and interest comes in creating websites, however my profession is in aviation. I am an air traffic controller that worked 7 years in SA which then took me to Dubai, UAE where I have been for the last 3 years. However, I will be returning to SA at the end of the year which I look forward to as there is no place like home.

Metal Detecting is something that has peaked my interest for a while, watched many youtube clips on it and decided to finally join in on the fun. I am still awaiting for my detector to arrive, but its on the way and should be with me in a day or two.
So thats my story and hope to see more introductions from others soon :)
