Hi all, i have finally decided to join this forum, I have been following it for quite some time now seeing what everyone has been up to in my area. I dont normally like Forums as one tends to get excited to display finds and you actually let the cat out the bag where you find what. I have been detecting for a couple of years now and compiled quite a bit of machines as i carried on and learned more about the hobby. I travel allot to see what i can find where and also just have a good time.
I have been trained by several beach hunters while i was abroad the talents that those guys have! The way they scan the area, the way they do their comparisons weather, erosion, time.....Its like being in the army. Putting these to good use is the winning combination every time.
I have been stationary for about 2 months in port elizabeth i will change my location on here as i travel along. I have found some very interesting stuff here which has kept me from moving on. I see most of the guys are tackling the main beaches i had better luck further out of p.e towards maidlands side and also down to plettenberg bay area. Main Beaches you need something with lots of oemf to get in deep the avarage detector simply will not find these, im talking 10inches easy
But before i give out to much information - A Warm Helloo from Sunny Port Elizabeth! I hope to catch you all on the beach sometime....

Welcome to the Forum, I reside here in p.e and soon to be back out there. We glad to have you here on the forum you could help us all with some tips and tricks lol

@Stevo007: I Will post some findings a little later i am just gathering my goodies going out for a hunt, Perhaps you want to join me and i can teach you the ropes.
@ Danie: The sandshark is a potent machine it does not stand back with performance i now and then have my wife with me looking after my other detectors while im in the water and i seldom pull out 2 or 3 at a time comparing with the other machines to see which one stands out to be the most effective and i must say the SS sometimes kicks the hiney of some top end machines. For the price you pay this machines over exceeds your expectations.
I see another member on here with a Vanquero that machine goes deep and super sensative if you want to do relics that is your silent assasin to use, lightweight, super power, Salvo will be able to tell you once you run this machine hot benchpressing the threshold this machine will most likely find coins on the other side of the world.

Welcome Silent Assasin. I will be at Pollock beach where the surfers are tomorrow from 2.30 pm if anyone is interested. Might as well see if someone has left a ring behind while watching the surfers..lol

@Fishless, i was there about two days ago didnt find much except for a few coins.
I went out to seaview yesterday and found a 925 silver ring, it seems that the person that lost it tried to make it bigger or smaller there is a cut right at the bottom perhaps the ring was too big and slipped off.
After digging about 200 hair pins i came across a very faint signal that was jumpy - Quite a unique ring the diamond in the middle looks like it detached on one side and most likely when attached moves around freely on the inside most likely detached when it got lost. Very thin band picked up around 8inches+ had a hard time scooping it up quite a bit of shell layers down there. Surf was a bit rough made things very difficult. The treasures are laying outside of p.e by the looks of things.
With the weather being bad its off Relic Hunting today with the At Pro.
