Title: New Garrett range
Post by: Barney on May 25, 2016, 09:29 PM: The new Garrets looks quite good - 200i, 300i and 400i. With the R/$ going south the prices to start off in the hobby is becoming ridiculous... :P

I know! I bought my 250 for only R3500 a few years ago. Look at them now

Now the Euro ace is around R7800 and the 400i is Just over R8000. The coil alone is about the price I paid for my Ace 350.

The AT Pro is already around R18000 at doculam. If I bought it 3 years ago I could have paid just under R10000 for the AT Pro.

Well it was a good investment. Just like buying a house. Prices keeps climbing.

Bought for: (excluding transport Vat etc. for Namibia, thus @ SA supplier price) = 27100.00
Replacement cost today = 40530.00

For what it's worth, my 400i arriving in Nam this Saturday.
I've asked fellow md addict Clarence (Salvo) to test/evaluate for me as he's by far the most jacked-up guy regarding tech matters around here.
I'm sure he'll gladly give you his feedback/assessment on the unit once he's done taking it for a "spin"
