Title: Hi I am beachdude!
Post by: beachdude on April 21, 2013, 08:02 PM
Hello admin and fellow hunters!

I am beachdude and I split my time between Toronto Canada and the South Coast of KZN. I hunt land, sand, and water, but I like water the best.

Hi beachdude, welcome to the site!

Interesting that you spend time in Canada, are you half Canadian? Seems like a nice yet cold place...

Yup that's me! I run http://tribe.ca (http://tribe.ca) which is the largest message board / online community in Toronto, Canada. It is not related to metal detecting but I do have  few discussion threads about metal detecting in there (when yer the admin , you can do that!  :D )

I find it interesting to see how non-detectorists react to our hobby. A few have even purchased their first metal detectors after reading about my adventures. Many have had their eyes opened to the treasures that are lurking beneath their feet, and not only the gold and silver, but the historical stuff like old coins, toys and other artifacts.

I think threads like that are an important bridge between our hobby and the general public because it de-mystifies the hobby and makes it more friendly and available.

I Agree with it bridging the gap.
I think the most interesting thing I have found is the old pull tabs from tin cans...... Yes how absurd that when I was a child they changed the pull tabs due to the pollution that they caused..... And now in 2013 I get all happy whwn I dig one up on the beach??? Irony is not a metal, But I found Irony with my Ace 250. hahahahah
