Hi There all coming in tomorrow. Herewith a google earth pic as demarcated for your information:
1. Yellow pin indicates given co-ordinates (Top Left of pic)
2. Red line roughly indicates the route we will take in to the hunt area. Beware!!! Stay on the tracks made by our vehicles when going in alone. This was an old residential area and do have open water pit holes.
3. Green block is where we will park.

4. Yellow block indicates the area we are currently hunting in but the entire area is open season to anyone.

Hi Boys and Girls

This weekend will once again be an ALL invited ( ;D As if it never is ;D) group hunt on Saturday with extension on Sunday for those that could not make it Saturday. At the same time we will sommer be celebrating Jnr's birthday that is happening today. I will be bringing along the Gas Braai manned (or shall I say womaned) by my wife with some catering for some boerewors rolls and other snacks at Mid day Saturday.

As usual the hunt will start from 08:00 onwards and continue right through till sunset on both days should you wish to stay for such a short hunt. Lets see if we can break the 40 coin a day barrier this week :P

Allthough needless to point out remember:
1. Trash are plentyfull :'( with some bottle caps giving you the perfect penny signals >:(
2. Soil varies very quickly from rock solid to your spade sinking in like a hot knife through butter. :o
3. Coins and other relics are abound thus far and hope for it te be so all the way through....Obviously No Guarantees ;)
4. Prepare to get down and dirty!!!

I will be scoping out some areas again during the week and still determine where we will get together. As soon as established, I will post GPS Co-ords and Google pic like previously. Hope to see you there. Till then, keep coil to the soil mates. ;)

Hi Guys and Girls

Sadly I sincerely have to apologise for the previous post. After posting this morning, I have been reminded by my Living Diary (aka. wife) that I have my dates mixed up...... :o :-X

The next hunt is not this weekend but the weekend of 9 and 10 August. I am out of town this weekend and will not be able to attend. I will ask Tom and the rest of you guys to stand in for me in my absence and communicate who is coming and when with each other or alternatively communicate with me.....I will relay the messages. I suggest that you guys coming through continue with the section we did this past weekend and work it further towards Bremer Street and further up to the top. We will take it further again.....

Once again guys and girls, so sorry for this terrible mix-up on my side :(
Title: Re: Lady Selborne
Post by: James Kraft on August 07, 2014, 08:21 PM
Hi Guys and Grisl

Our Monthly Group Hunt is on this weekend as said earlier. Sorry for the mixup last weekend. Please confirm who will be in attendance at the wifey needs to tally the attendees in order for the md-day catering and needs to organize the snacks and "Fishies" lol.....(You know what I am talking about.....Hehehehehe ;)

Please confirm specifically Saturday's attendance either here, Via PM, Via BBM or Whatsapp for those who have me there. Obviously we will continue the hunt on Sunday. Both Saturday and Sunday will be full day hunting from 08:00 to 18:00 for myself with anyone to join in and dodge out at any given moment. We should be snacking with compiments of the Mrs. at or around Mid-day also sommer celebrating Jnr's bithday past on Saturday.

See you there, and as always.....Keep Coil To The Soil Mates...... ;D ;) ;D

Hopefully it will bw... Trying to do this monthly.....Have a nice group together.....Have a couple of snacks during the day (Braai or whatever) as well as obviously some liquified snacks for those in attendance and thirsty.....Lol....

Hopefully us Inland Crawlers can organize a group get together and put together a group that can come down to the coastal areas and be taught by you guys.....The masters of the loose sand and rough waters.

Sounds like a plan. Dont worry about any diggers for down here, your toes will do fine..lol. But there is not much on our beaches so the best is to pretend and do some sightseeing..hehe.

Well Boys and Girls

Tomorrow is luch in the veld Saturday again with Boerewors Rolls and cold ones on the agenda. See you all there who ever comes in or through.

We have gon through the area with the exception of the obvious Ash pits and will be starting the area re-hunt as from this weekend. I believe that trash will be plentyfull with good finds much harder and less to find than the 1st sweep but hopefully our Lady will keep on delivering.

We will meet up in the centre field at the tall trees where the 1st Group Hunt started and work the area through from there. I should be in the field from about 08:00 to 08:30

See ya there..........

Hi Kobus

I only keep count / data of coins recovered pre-1965. Anything from 1965 to current I do not keep score of as I considder them to be modern. Thus far I have 282 coins in the era pre-1965 ;)
